Ms. Eriko Ishikawa leads the Inclusive Business team at the International Finance Corporation (IFC). Inclusive companies are those that have a direct impact on the poor as consumers and producers.  IFC is the largest global investor in inclusive companies, with over US$18 billion investments committed since 2005.  IFC’s Treasury has raised over US$1.2 billion to fund inclusive projects in developing countries through its innovative thematic bond program (“Social” and “Inclusive Business” bonds) that have been well received by institutional and private investors.

At the global level, Ms. Ishikawa has helped establish IFC’s leadership in “Inclusive Business” through her work with the G20 Development Working Group, APEC, ASEAN, UNDP and UNGC.  Together with her team members, she has co-authored several publications on this topic.

Ms. Ishikawa has over 25 years of development finance experience in the World Bank Group. During her career she has led several new practice areas — providing financing, technical assistance and advisory support to private sector companies in Brazil, Cote d’Ivoire, Guyana, India, Kazakhstan, Kenya, the Kyrgyz Republic, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Peru, and Uzbekistan.

Prior to joining IFC, Ms. Ishikawa was a Vice President for International Corporate Finance at Citibank in New York, covering Latin American and Japanese clients. She was born in Japan, grew up in Brazil, and has been educated in the US.
