John McCarthy has a 25-year background in social and health service delivery and management in the NGO sector. He currently manages The Tindall Foundation https://tindall.org.nz/, a family philanthropic organisation based in Auckland, New Zealand. In addition to its $10m annual donations, The Tindall Foundation has invested in a range of social and impact initiatives over the last 15 years. More recently, The Foundation has partnered in a new investment approach to Maori economic self-determination, aiming to address intergenerational disadvantage and exclusion, and restore the cultural, social, environmental, and economic well-being of New Zealand’s most marginalised communities.
